The West African Examination Council (WAEC) Massive Recruitment

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), a sub-regional organization responsible for the conduct of a variety of examinations in the English-speaking West African countries, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions in its Nigeria National Office and the Lagos Department of its Headquarters Research Division.

1.) Subject Officers

3.) Aptitude Test Development Officers

Requirements
• Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Ed. (Hons) (at least Second Class Lower Division) in either Chemistry, Physics or English and M.Ed. in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from a recognised University.

7.) Senior Public Affairs Officer / Public Affairs Officer

Requirements
• Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication (at least Second Class Lower Division), from a recognised University with at least three years experience in the Public Affairs Department of a reputable organisation or in the editorial or reportorial department of a reputable media outfit.
• Possession of a higher degree and membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will be an added advantage.
• Applicants who have not majored in Mass Communication but who possess graduate diplomas in Mass Communication are also eligible.

8.) Computer Programmers

Requirements
• Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Sc (Hons) degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science, or equivalent from a recognised University with at least three years experience.
• Applicants should have functional knowledge of at least three of the foHowing languages: Visual Basic (Visual Studio.Net) Visual Foxpro, COBOL, C++, JAVA.
• Applicants should also be familiar with the following operating systems: MS-DOS, Windows 2008 Server (and beyond), OS/400, and Open VMS.
• Knowledge of the following applications will be an added advantage:
• (i) Data Base Management - SQL Server 2005 (and beyond) and Oracle
• (ii) Network Management – Network and web design

Note: Applicants for all positions must (in addition to their degrees and professional qualifications), possess five credits including English Language and Mathematics at a sitting in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE "0" Level or six credits including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE "0" Level. 5. Collect, register and maintain information on programme activities by reviewing reports & contribute to the preparation of status, progress and other variety of records.
6. Summarize information reflecting current obligations and future programme and/or budgetary implications. Participate in the preparation/dissemination of Annual Work Plans and office work-plan, quarterly work-plans and achievement report. Draft relevant sections (implementation status) of donor, annual and other reports required in the WASH section.
7. May be required to carry out specific operational/control tasks for programme/project implementation.
8. Assist in the preparation of training and workshop materials. Draft allocation and release letters for supply items and participate in monitoring supplies and cash assistance. Perform other duties, as required. Responsible for making logistics and travel arrangements for the section events.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Shall be responsible for collection of subscription and annual dues from professional accountants/registered entities and shall give weekly accounts to the branch accountant;
- Assist in collection of annual report of registered companies for monitoring/inspection purposes; and
- Shall be responsible for any other duty that may be assigned, from time to time, by management

REQUIREMENTS
The candidates for the post must posses the following minimum requirements:
- A good university degree in accounting of not less than Second Class Honours (Lower Division)
- Must have completed the mandatory NYSC programme; and
- Must be willing to be posted to any part of the country
