VACANCIES IN THE NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL

VACANCY
COUNCIL OF LEGAL EDUCATION
NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL
ABUJA

Applications are invited from suitable qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies of the Nigerian law school:

DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL: CONUASS 7
Applicants should posses a minimum of a second degree in law with fifteen years post qualification and cognate academic and administrative experience in senior positions. They are also expected to show evidence of experience in various facets of higher institutional administration and teaching. A doctorate degree in law or a chair in any recognized university and a practical experience in law will be added advantages.



CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER: CONTISS 13
Applicants should posse a good honors degree not below a second class lower division (2:2) from a recognized university with a minimum of 13 years cognate experience, preferably in an institution of higher learning or a suitable organization. Membership of a professional body and a master’s degree will be added advantages.


LECTURER GRADE II: CONUASS 3
Applicants must possess a good honors degree in law not below second class lower (2:2) from a recognized university, and a master’s degree in law. A minimum of three (3) years of legal practices, teaching or relevant research is also required. Evidence of academic publications will be an advantage.

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN: CONUASS I
Applicants must possess a good honors degree not below second class lower (2:2) in library science from a recognized university. Computer literacy is a requirement.



SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER: CONTISS 9
Applicants must possess a good honors degree not below second class lower (2:2) from a recognized university with a minimum of seven years cognate experience in administration.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER I: CONTISS 8
Applicants must possess a good honors degree not below second class lower (2:2) from a recognized university with a minimum of four (4) years cognate experience in administration.


ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II: CONTISS 7
Applicants must possess a good honors degree not below second class lower (2:2) from a recognized university with post NYSC experience.

ACCOUNT II: CONTISS 7
Applicants must possess a good honors degree not below second class lower (2:2) in Accounting from a recognized university. He/She must computer literate and must have completed his/her NYSC.


INTERNAL AUDITOR II: CONTISS 7
Applicants must possess a good honors degree not below second class lower (2:2) in Accounting or related discipline, from a recognized university and must have completed his/her NYSC.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Appointments will be full time and pensionable and will be subject to probationary period of two years after which upon satisfactory work and conduct, the appointment would be confirm. Other conditions of service are similar to those existing in Nigerian universities as may be prescribed from time to time by the COUNCIL OF LEGAL EDUCATION. Transfer from a public service or an existing “Schedule Authority” will be considered.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Applicants should submit twenty (20) copies of their application, curriculum vitae, and certificates. Applicants that fail to meet the requirement will not be considered.
Applications from persons in government service or public corporations should be submitted through each applicant Head of institution or Scheduled personnel officer together with certified copies of confidential reports for the last three (3) years. Candidates not in the public service or public corporations must each submit names of 3 referees, one of whom must be applicant’s present or last employer. Such referees should be asked by applicant to write ‘References’ direct to The Secretary to the council/director of Administration. Only application of candidates invited for interview will acknowledged.

CLOSING DATE

VACANCY FOR POLICE RECRUIT 2010,

2010 - 07- 31 VACANCIES FOR RECRUITMENT OF CONSTABLES
The Police Recruitment Board invites suitably qualified applicants for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as Recruit Constables.

Applicants wishing to apply must have the following qualifications and requirements:
Category A
i) A level or equivalent
ii) NCE or equivalent
iii) ND or equivalent
This category will undergo 15 months training programme
Category B
i. SSCE/WAEC with 5 credits including English Language and a pass in Mathematics.
This category will undergo 18 months training programme.
Other requirements include
a) AGE - Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
b) HEIGHT - Not less than 1.67 meters (5’6’) for male and 1.63 meters (5’4) for females.
c) CHEST MEASUREMENT - Expanded chest measurement which is for male only must not be less than 86 centimeters (34”)
d) PHYSICAL FITNESS – Candidates must not have any physical deformities and will before appointment, be required to pass a medical examination of physical fitness conducted by an acceptable Government Hospital.
e) Good Character
f) Must be free of pecuniary embarrassment
g) Must not suffer any of the following;
1. Impediment in speech
2. Gross malformation of teeth or jaw preventing proper mastication of food
3. Knock knees
4. Bow leg
5. Bent knees
6. Flat feet
7. Bent arms
8. Deformed hands
9. Defective eyesight, or squint eyes
10. Amputation of any part of the body
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Each applicant is expected to download the Recruitment Form below.
Completed application forms in quadruplicate must be submitted on or before September 13, 2010, accompanied with the following documents:
1. Photocopies of Birth Certificates/ Statutory declaration of age.
2. Photocopies of Credentials.
3. Letter of Identification, duly signed by the Chairman/ Secretary of Candidate’s Local Government Area.
4. Four recent passport photographs
All duly completed forms should be returned to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Applicant’s Local Government Area who in turn shall forward all the applications to the State Police Headquarters.
NOTE:
All credentials tendered will be verified with the appropriate examination/issuing bodies. Anyone who tenders fake document will be prosecuted. Interested candidates should also note that earlier applications stand cancelled as this is a fresh exercise.
TIME TABLE FOR THE RECRUITMENT EXERCISE
The Time Table for the Recruitment Exercise is as follows:
i. Submission of forms from August 2, 2010 - September 9, 2010;
ii. Interview/Screening of Candidates - October 4, 2010 - October 9, 2010;
iii. Examination - October 23, 2010;
iv. Marking of Answer Scripts - October 25, 2010 - October 30, 2010;
v. Selection of Candidates - November 1, 2010 - November 5, 2010;
vi. Release of Results - November 15, 2010; and
vii.Commencement of Training - December 1, 2010
